Bubble Tea Wafts Into Connecticut

Janet Chen of Stamford has sweet memories of growing up in Taiwan in the 1970s. Sweet because of all the tasty desserts she remembers feasting on as a child: sugary bean cakes, honey-infused fig jelly, shaved ice topped with chunks of just-picked pineapples, all purchased for mere pennies from little roadside stands on the way home from school.
