Description:Learn about the many influences on the Ferriday plant choices. Francophile Caroline Ferriday not only had a keen horticultural eye, but was influenced by her family history and personal interests. Her mother designed the c. 1915 garden, influenced by the Colonial Revival Movement. Her Woolsey ancestors were gardeners, and the Ferridays had southern roots. Her cousin was a rosarian who donated a large rose book collection to the archives.
