James A. Salvatore

James A. Salvatore, 86, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Cromwell, beloved husband of Alvina (LeRoy) Salvatore for 62 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at home with his family by his side. He was born in Hartford and was the son of the late Anthony and Marie (Monacchio) Salvatore and lived in the greater Hartford area all his life. Throughout his adult life, he was involved with construction and restaurant businesses. Most notably, he owned and operated Big Jim’s Restaurant on Main Street in East Hartford in the late 1960s to early 1970s. Jim was active in the Democratic Party in Hartford in the 1950s. He will be dearly missed by his devoted family and many friends.
